Free school meals are available to eligible children who attend a maintained school in Wales. Universal primary free school meals are currently being rolled out across Wales, starting with the youngest learners in our primary schools.

The Welsh Government is offering help with school costs. Support is available for eligible children such as Free School Meals, the School Essentials Grant as well as additional funding available for schools. Universal Primary Free School Meals is being rolled out and, by September 2024, all children in primary schools will enjoy Free School Meals.
